Across Parliament, Ministers, MP's and Shadow Ministers are backing the ‘Your Local NHS: be at the heart of it’ campaign to deliver for their constituents, and the country.
Wes Streeting MP
Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting MP, launched the campaign at an event in Parliament with Rt Hon Anne Milton and Nick Forbes CBE.
Speaking at the event, Streeting said “Healthcare is anchor institution in local economies, providing great jobs and opportunities to people, being good partners to other parts of the public sector, as well as the business and voluntary sector. It’s great that you’ve pulled people together in this Coalition to think in very broad and strategic terms about how we can build a better future and give everyone light at the end of the tunnel.”
Dame Caroline Dinenage MP
Former Minister for Health and Social Care, Dame Caroline Dinenage MP has backed the ‘Your local NHS: be at the heart of it’ campaign, hosting the launch in the House of Commons. Dame Caroline previously served to prepare the UK prepare for COVID-19 as Minister of State at the Department for Health and Social Care.
John Lamont MP
Minister of State for Scotland, John Lamont MP is backing the campaign tackle the recruitment and retention challenges in NHS Scotland - an issue he has championed in his constituency. Prior to his election as an MP, Lamont served as Member of the Scottish Parliament for 10 years.
Karin Smyth MP
Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care, Karin Smyth MP is a strong supporter of the Purpose Coalition’s campaigns, and has backed the campaign in her role as Shadow Health and Social Care Minister. Prior to her election, Karin worked as an NHS manager at Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr. Lisa Cameron MP
SNP MP and former Clinical Phycologist is backing the campaign to improve health inequalities, and has worked closely with the Scottish Government on this agenda, ‘I am passionate about tackling health inequalities, and as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Scottish Government has made tackling health inequalities a priority, and as anchor institutions within our local communities, our NHS has a huge role to play in creating jobs, new opportunities and improving social mobility."
