About

Britain is facing unprecedented healthcare challenges, and the health community must work together to tackle them.

The Patients First Coalition has come together to improve patient outcomes, cut waiting lists, boosting productivity, share best practice and tackle health inequalities. It is led by Rt Hon Anne Milton:

About Anne: Anne built a successful 25-year nursing career within the NHS before transitioning into politics. After training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and completing a district nursing diploma at London South Bank University, Milton specialised in primary and palliative care, serving as a hospital-based district nurse in Hackney. Her frontline experience included supporting GPs and conducting clinical research, which informed her approach to patient care. Beyond those duties, she advocated passionately for nursing professionals as a Royal College of Nursing shop steward during the 1980s. Anne’s extensive nursing experience provided a solid foundation when she entered politics as MP in 2005, subsequently serving as Minister for Public Health from 2010 to 2012.
